A refurbishment of the existing sauna at private property in Morley, Leeds. Aqualine Wellness removed the existing tongue and groove cladding to the interior due to smoke damage from a nearby fire. The customer wanted the sauna to look as …
it did previously with a very basic design. Spruce panelling was used with the benches being of abachi wood and the material were supplied by Harvia of Finland.
The old 8kW sauna heater was removed and with careful planning and better insulation we were able to reduce the heater size to 6kW to reduce running costs. A Harvia Vega with built on controls was the heater of choice, the existing door was still fit for purpose and was reused.
Sauna flooring should normally be comprised of tiles or a non-slip surface, however the customer required a wooden floor. Special spruce crate flooring was manufactured for the customer with a smooth finish to the same standard as that seen on the benches.
Lighting is provided by a single Harvia lamp so that it matches the previous specification.
